Job Requirements

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines using Azure Synapse Analytics, Spark Pools, and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
  • Write efficient, scalable, and high-performance code in Python and SQL.
  • Manage ingestion and processing of structured and unstructured data using Azure Data Lake at scale (volume, variety, velocity).
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and apply DataOps principles to ensure automation, reliability, and speed.
  • Optimize data partitioning, versioning, and manage storage/compute costs for large-scale data workloads.
  • Ensure solution quality through robust unit testing and automated validation.
  • Collaborate with business teams to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning use cases.
  • Mentor junior engineers, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of engineering excellence.

Job Requirements

  • Great English proficiency (B2+ Written and spoken)
  • 8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
  • Impeccable punctuality (schedules are flexible but being in time for meetings is crucial
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field
  • Deep knowledge of both AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
  • Expertise in data modeling and performance tuning.
  • Advanced skills in Python and SQL, especially for large-scale data processing and optimization.
  • Proficient with Azure Synapse Analytics, Spark Pools, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data Lake.
  • Practical experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and leveraging DataOps methodologies.
  • Strong ability to manage complex datasets with varying structures and volumes.
  • Excellent communication, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and client engagement skills.
  • Comfortable working with global teams, including stakeholders in India, and able to accommodate occasional timezone-sensitive meetings.

Nice to have 

  • Experience with Delta Lake, data versioning, and advanced partitioning strategies.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and security best practices across cloud platforms.
  • Understanding of advanced data modeling concepts (e.g., slowly changing dimensions).
  • Familiarity with cost optimization strategies for cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience mentoring or providing technical leadership to junior team members.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time consultancy, with up to 40 weekly hours during regular business times. We operate under a flexible core hours policy to accommodate various schedules, allowing consultants to perform during their peak productivity times. Additionally, we offer the flexibility to work remotely.
