Job Requirements

Job Summary 
We are seeking a highly experienced Team Lead with strong Laravel and SQL skills to join a climate tech client based in NYC. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing direction to teams and aligning skilled but misfiring engineers around technical goals. This is a hands-on position with the potential to evolve into a more formal leadership role over time.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on development using Laravel, SQL, and HTML/CSS/JS.
  • Lead a team of engineers by fostering structure, accountability, and delivery focus.
  • Drive best practices in coding, architecture, and agile collaboration.
  • Influence technical direction and push for continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the key technical voice in product and planning discussions.

Job Requirements

  • Great English proficiency (B2+ Written and spoken)
  • 10+ years of experience as a Technical Lead (Laravel/PHP)
  • Impeccable punctuality (schedules are flexible but being in time for meetings is crucial)
  • Strong command of SQL; experience with Postgres preferred.
  • Proven leadership in engineering teams (formal or informal).
  • Assertive, decisive communicator with high emotional intelligence.
  • Solid understanding of frontend fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JS).
  • Impeccable punctuality and time ownership.

Nice to have 

  • Experience in climatetech or mission-driven startups.
  • Exposure to backend Python services.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching team members.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time consultancy, with up to 40 weekly hours during regular business times. We operate under a flexible core hours policy to accommodate various schedules, allowing consultants to perform during their peak productivity times. Additionally, we offer the flexibility to work remotely.
