Alejandro is a name that resonates with dedication and commitment at Oceans. As an IT recruiter, his role goes beyond interviews; he is a guide for candidates on their journey to the company. Join us as we explore his story, achievements, and what motivates him every day.

Who is Alejandro and what is your role in the company?

My name is Alejandro, and I am an IT recruiter for Oceans Code Experts. My role is quite broad, covering everything from contacting candidates to guiding them throughout the entire recruitment process. I conduct initial screenings, where I evaluate candidates' experience and technical skills. I also coordinate technical interviews and sanitize resumes before presenting them to our clients. In short, my job is to ensure that every candidate feels supported and accompanied from the first contact until they join the company.

How long have you been with Oceans and what was your first impression?

I’ve been with Oceans for one year and five months. I discovered Oceans thanks to a personal project I was working on, and I was drawn to the company’s human-centered approach. From the start, I was impressed by the CEO's genuine interest in getting to know me personally, something I hadn’t experienced at previous companies. I came from a large corporation where I felt like just another number, but at Oceans, I feel valued as a person. That first impression of warmth and humanity has endured to this day.

How would you describe working at Oceans?

Working at Oceans means feeling supported and always backed by the team. Whether in recruitment or with the team in general, there’s always someone willing to help. Additionally, there’s a strong focus on continuous improvement and constant learning. If we don’t know something, we figure it out together. This culture of support and personal growth is what makes working here a rewarding and enriching experience.

Tell us about something you’re proud of achieving at Oceans.

One of my most notable achievements at Oceans was creating mini coding tests for initial interviews. A consultant suggested this idea for Python, and I decided to take it a step further, developing exercises for other languages like Java, C#, and JavaScript. This project allowed me to apply my knowledge in programming and recruitment, and today, these tests are an essential part of the selection process at Oceans. It’s something that, while not complex, fills me with pride.

What is your main motivation in your daily work?

My main motivation is continuous learning. Every day at Oceans is an opportunity to learn something new. I face daily challenges that allow me to grow, and I enjoy embracing those challenges. This mindset of constant learning is what drives me to keep improving and giving my best in my role.

What are your professional expectations?

My professional expectations are aligned with continuing to grow in the field of recruitment and programming. My aspiration is to be able to conduct more advanced technical interviews in the future. I’d like to deepen my knowledge of languages like Java and contribute more formally to the selection process at Oceans.

What do you enjoy most about working remotely?

What I enjoy most about working remotely is the time it saves me and the flexibility it offers. I can manage my time and health better, which is crucial for me due to a chronic health issue I have. If I weren’t working remotely, I probably wouldn’t be able to work at all, as commuting would be extremely difficult.

How do you spend your time outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy dedicating time to my personal projects, as well as resting and taking care of my health. I’m also passionate about video games, having competed at an almost professional level. I also appreciate how the flexibility of remote work allows me to better balance my personal and professional life, which is invaluable to me.

Alejandro is a clear example of how working at Oceans is not just about completing daily tasks, but about finding a place where you feel valued, supported, and motivated to grow. His story shows us that when a company prioritizes the well-being and personal development of its employees, achievements and personal satisfaction naturally follow. Thank you, Alejandro, for sharing your experience with us!
