Who is Esteban? And what is your role in the company?
My name is Esteban, and I am currently a web developer at Oceans. Although my initial training was not directly related to software, I have always been passionate about digital and electronic things, probably influenced by my father, who is an electronic engineer. My interest in programming began during university with simple projects, and I eventually specialized in mechatronics. After an entrepreneurial experience in solar energy and business studies in England, I decided to focus on web development. I completed a full stack web bootcamp and started working in this field, which eventually led me to Oceans.
How long have you been with Oceans? What was your first impression?
I have been at Oceans for approximately three years. My first impression was a bit confusing due to the work structure with multiple intermediaries. However, I quickly realized that Oceans was a company I could trust and feel supported by. Despite the initial complexity, I always felt like I was working directly for Oceans, which gave me a great sense of belonging.
What is it like to work at Oceans?
Working at Oceans is an enriching and constantly learning experience. Although I have been in multiple projects, which can be challenging, I have always had the support of my colleagues and superiors. The work environment is collaborative, and there is a strong sense of community, even in a remote setting. I feel valued and supported, which makes me greatly enjoy my work here.
Tell us about one thing you are proud to have accomplished at Oceans?
I am proud to have learned and adapted to new technologies quickly. An example is when I had to learn Laravel on the go for a project, despite my previous experience only being with JavaScript. These kinds of challenges have allowed me to grow professionally and acquire new skills that are valuable both to me and the company.
What is your main motivation on a day-to-day basis?
My main motivation is the desire to keep learning and improving in my field. Every project and challenge is an opportunity to grow and acquire new skills. Additionally, the satisfaction of delivering quality work and meeting the expectations of my clients and colleagues drives me to give my best every day.
What are your career expectations?
My career expectations include continuing to develop as a professional in the field of web development and eventually exploring entrepreneurial opportunities. Although I have reconsidered my initial plans to start a business, I am still interested in applying my knowledge and experiences to my own projects in the future.
What do you enjoy most about working remotely?
What I enjoy most about working remotely is the flexibility it provides me. I can manage my time efficiently, which allows me to better balance my personal and professional life. Additionally, working from home saves me time and resources on commuting, which is a great advantage.
How do you spend your time outside of work
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I like being outdoors, playing sports, and exploring new technologies and personal projects related to web development. I also dedicate time to reading and continuing to learn about topics that interest me.
